How to Remove the iCloud Activation Lock from iPhone, iPad & iPod touch
Over the last few years, technology has become extremely revised and modern. Apple devices, especially, are almost always a few steps ahead than the rest of tech devices. In 2013, with the release of iOS 7, Apple added a security measure called Activation Lock. This lock prevents a new owner of an old iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to set up the phone without the password that the last owner had set. This was basically done to keep thieves from being able to set up a stolen iOS device as their own. But it just became a challenge for people who buy used or second hand iPhones.
First we’re going to discuss how this lock actually works. So if an iPhone is stolen, the Activation Lock turns on automatically after enabling the “find my phone” feature. This device then becomes almost useless for the individual as they can’t access it without the original iCloud password. Another thing about this lock is that when it asks you for the password, it also doesn’t show the full email address of the connected account. But still, the original or previous owner receives an email informing them that their activation lock is on and somebody is trying to access the phone.
Even though, the purpose of this activation lock was to keep thieves from opening a stolen apple device, the actual issue arises when someone who has legally bought an old iPhone online or from a mobile shop wants to access the phone but is unable to due to this activation lock. Also, some people get locked out of their iPhone if they don’t sign out of iCloud before putting their device in the recovery mode and restoring it. So in this tutorial we’ll show you an easy way to remove activation lock from an iOS device with a third-party tool called 4MeKey Activation Lock Remover.
